The decision to take my health and fitness to another level has been life changing. Big box gyms aren't for me anymore."
For the past few years I've been trying to find my "niche" when it comes to working out and fitness in general. At one point I got into weight lifting. Then I got on the Insanity bandwagon. And finally boxing. But I didn't feel at home with any of these programs. Something was missing. After a year of driving by Crossfit Eado I finally mustered up the courage to attend a free class (yes- free!). And from there I didn't look back. I have finally found my home. Crossfit is a wonderful all body workout program and Crossfit Eado is a welcoming and wonderful place to workout in. The camaraderie, support and encouragement are everything to me! They are what was missing in all the previous programs I've attempted. I love Crossfit Eado!

- How did you hear about EaDo? I heard about EaDo from a previous employer that had a working relationship with EaDo. I had helped work an event & dabbled in a few Yoga EaDo classes, but was never brave enough to try the CF side of things-talk about major intimidation when you combine CF with the biggest box in Texas! I ended up seeing an ad on FB over the holidays talking about a 6wk CF challenge for women only & I was super excited to find out that it was being held at EaDo since I already knew a few people there & decided to go for it!
- What do you love most about EaDo? The community. I’ve been in Houston going on 3 years & I am finally starting to feel “plugged in” I have met some of the most amazing and inspiring women when I decided to do the 6wk challenge. We motivate each other, hold each other accountable, cheer one another on & go grab coffee together after a kick ass workout. I truly love the genuine friendships I have made with other likeminded individuals.
- Briefly tell us about your fitness journey before EaDo & now with your time here at EaDo. Prior to EaDo I had pretty much done it all-I was a 3 sport athlete growing up, played soccer at the collegiate level, ran marathons, was an avid yogi, dabbled in barre, you name it, I had probably tried it, heck! I had even tried CF before—3 classes to be exact. Needless to say, I have always been a very active person, that all changed when I became pregnant with my daughter-I suddenly became afraid to workout even though I had a very healthy & low risk pregnancy. I still did a few low impact workouts & yoga here and there, but then completely fell off track after she was born, only running periodically. My time at EaDo has taught me how to fall back in love with something that has been so important & integral in my life-being healthy & working out.
-What impact has CrossFit had in your life? CF has had an unbelievable impact on my life, not only physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. As I mentioned above, it has helped me fall back in love with something that is a huge part of who I am, but more importantly it has helped me feel like “myself” again—something I have not felt since returning home from deployment in 2011. I will be forever grateful for the confidence, strength & new outlook on life that CF has given me.
CrossFit has changed my life and I’m thankful for the community I’ve become a part of at CrossFit EaDo. I started with the 6 week program where I met like minded ladies who became my support group as we learned about fitness and nutrition. Coach Lisa guided us through the process and before I knew it, I was doing CrossFit. I continued my journey mainly through the bootcamp class where Coach Danny knew just how to push me. With the support and encouragement of everyone, I dropped 24 pounds in ten months and am now the fittest I’ve ever been. As time went on other classes were added such as the Strength+ and Quick Fit classes. Coach Charles has made powerlifting fun and when I’m pushed for time the 30 min Quick Fit class leaves me feeling accomplished. CrossFit EaDo has changed my life and I am forever grateful for the community.
